When it comes to camera performance on smartphones, generally speaking a modern compact camera will still be preferable to those who want to capture those unforgettable moments at the best quality possible. The gap between compacts and smartphones is getting smaller however, with some smartphones, like the Xperia X10, offering the same amount of features found on dedicated cameras. The screen is perhaps the single most important hardware component of any smartphone. After all, it is the window through which we view our pictures, video’s, email, websites, documents, etc. A good quality screen should be expected of any high end smartphone these days, so let’s find out how these two devices stack up. Copying and pasting text and files is something everybody who uses a computer on a regular basis is used to. While the inclusion of this functionality in any (mobile) operating system seems like a given, history shows us both Google and Apple (and Microsoft too, but that is outside of the scope of this article) have had difficulty implementing copy & paste. This blog will be an overview on the difference in performance between two popular smartphones: the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android smartphone, and Apple’s iOS-based iPhone 4.

Why these two phones? Well, simply because they’re all I have. And why do a comparison? Mostly because there’s alot of false information on the web about both Android and iOS performance and differences, so I feel I can shed another light on the subject because I have devices running both operating systems.

Also, I don’t consider myself a fanboy, so I will try to do comparisons fairly and as objectionally as I can. I hope to do my first video comparison soon, so please stay tuned for more!
